The photo on the left is an example of the style of Mr. Scott and what folks could do at the workshop which is free and open to the public. The California African American Museum is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park in Los Angeles, CA 90037. Admission to the museum is free but the parking is $8 at 39th and Figueroa. You could also go Metro but depending on where you live that might not be an option for you.
According to an information sheet that I have in my hand: "Inspired by the work of New Orleans artist John T. Scot, participants will create a sculpture based on architectonic forms used by him. Artist Wanda Clarke will lead the workshop."
You don't have to bring anything except your body and an open mind. And $8 for parking.
